OK, I just heard a report that the Queen of England is planning to KNIGHT Bill Gates!??!??!?

Can somebody please pinch me, to make sure I'm awake, LOL??

What are you folks on the other side of the pond thinking?

Sir Bill indeed! :cheesy:

Sir WebCat

PS--> at least this won't have any impact on his tiny, humble ego!

I believe Microsoft has a trademark on UK. And, this is the
trade off so the United Kingdom can continue using the TM "UK".

LOL! I would not be surprised! If they don't watch out, soon he will own Windsor Castle!

But seriously, I wonder if certain people in the UK really feel he has done something worthy of Knighthood?

doesnt he own microsoft?

Tony B.....liars decision.

He may be after a bit of discount on the many millions of pounds that government spend ;-)

I wonder of Tony Blair surfs the internet on a Mac or a PC?

If it's a Mac, then he owes Sir Bill nothing. If it's a PC, then he's a hostage like the rest of the world!

Bill Gates is an extremely generous person.

I know most of the computers in our school and local library are donated by him.

And we are in Canada, while he is out of Redmond (WA). He plans on giving all but a small portion of his wealth to charity.

And you guys go against Bill? I am not too into the computer industry, but I am aware some think Microsoft is a bad company.

Bill Gates isnt Microsoft, he doesnt even own it. I am unsure if his decisions are the ones that people blame for "unfair competition" or "crappy, buggy software".

My sources say Sir Bill owns around 1,209,713,228 shares of Microsoft, which is 11.30% of the total, with an estimated net worth of over 40 BILLION dollars.

I wonder if he'd loan me a couple million?

WebCat :-D

To be honest, The Bill Gates Foundation is giving away bucket loads of money for a variety of causes. They just donated 30 or 40 million to the university here for AIDS research.

Knighthood? Not sure if that is warranted yet.

As an aside: Ted Turner gave a billion away to the U.N. - I'd scream if that freak got knighted.

He won't be a "Sir". Not the right birthplace.

He just gets to slap something onto his name.

Whoop-de-doo! :p Heh, heh. That fictional guy in Da Vinci Code was a knight, and look what happened to him. :)

WebMomentum...... I would be in 100% agreement, Mr Turner is some kind of oddball! But then, look who he married to! Jane Fonda is no Mother Theresa herself!
