Software program advise for mailing lists

I had two excellent free programs that helped me with email lists. I got my computer and hard drive stolen and cant remember the names of the programs. Any advice would be much appreciated. One was a duplicate email remover and also checked for valid emails. The other one let me make a text file that I could enter names to be weeded out. For that one, I entered in words like proxy, privacy, etc. This gave me a nice targeted, clean list.
