18 million vs 1.8!!

And myspace sold for $550 million and youtube sold for $1.6 billion. That to is a big difference :)

Can't understand why that would be so high. I think OT is completely OTT.

actually myspace sold for $580 million and youtube for $1.65 billion :p

I think myspace.com's higher overture is in relation to the many other searches like myspace.com layouts, etc. no ones looking for extras at youtube.com just videos

Timing the market:

MySpace.com sold in July 2005 for $580 million.

Fastforward 15 months...

1) the birth of social networking was witnessed in the media domain.
2.) MySpace grew into a global mega hit.

October 2006 YouTube sold for 1.6 billion. The popularity of MySpace and the emergence of a gazillion viral video/social networking sites skyrocketed the value of YouTube!

Some estimate that today, MySpace is worth 7-8 billion!

Timing the market.....is the key to success.

However, are we witnessing another dot com bubble?

Forgot to mention friendsreunited.co.uk sold for over 100 million here in the U.K,so we could well be on another .com bubble abeit on a smaller scale ?
