The FUTURE of domaining

Interesting concept. Are you suggesting masking them in the control panel prior to parking? or making sites?

If so, have you done this?

One the other hand, regarding PPC overall, be it parking or adsense, the fact remains that these search engines and PPC companies are in this business to make money and do not necessarily feel obligated to make domainers rich.

If so, have you done this?

yes, we all do it when we "forward" our traffic using "url redirect", rather than changing the nameservers.
we mask the ppc pages url for our domain name.

in the scenerio I gave, masking can be done by creating subdomains for every site listed in google. but it would be done by google.

these subdomains can then be "frame forwarded" to your website and the visitor from google will see that subdomain in the address bar of your site.

since google retains the right to it's algo's, if you want to "remain" a part of that...you will conform to be listed!

I also expect Google to start it's own parking company or buy an existing one...

that would be the beginning of the prediction.

since we are so desperate to "be listed"

it would be like herding sheep

perfect way to eliminate all the other ppc's and collect a ton of direct navigation

With Google leading the pack, they are collectively lowering the PPC payout standard as we speak.

One alternate option is to sign up for affiliate programs - categorize your domain names and point specific categories of names to related affiliate products, which could be found at a site like cj.com (commission junction). You might even find some affiliate programs pay substantially more than you'd make with your names with PPC pages.

With major shifts of domain traffic, between affiliate programs, PPC companies, and other uses, we may see new and different types of entities competing more for those potential customers.

I don't think the public or business owners would want search engines to tamper with website URL's, it's too Orwellian and would cause an outcry.

Search engines are hostage to advertisers, that is where their revenues come from. I think it is in their best interest to keep both advertisers and publishers happy and not tamper with URLs. Companies like Ebay and Ford don't want search engines altering their urls. Search engines are best off focusing on their search function and offshoot programs (e.g.: maps, social, news, local). A company like G also benefits from having their search bar and ad boxes (with their name) on all those publisher sites. Yahoo and MSN have even less incentive to anger advertisers/publishers because they are trying to play catch up.

It's fine for every search engine to want everyone to start their search from their site, but it will never 100% happen. Direct navigation will always be around, people see URL's in ads and tv, they don't have to search for them, they just have to type in the url they saw in the ad. Search engines are great for when you're starting to search a subject from scratch, that is their biggest strength but doesn't, and never will, account for all the traffic on the internet.

Afraid I have been sticking with the DNS server change.

Staying a little cautious when I read about Googles deceptive practices.

In regards to Google buying or starting a parking program, they have been doing this. I have yet to try it out but they were promoting this:

What are parked domain sites? Will my ads show on them?

A parked domain site is an undeveloped webpage belonging to a domain name registrar or domain name holder. Our AdSense for domains program places targeted AdWords ads on parked domain sites that are part of the Google Network.

i think this is already what happens when you do a search on google images. when you click on an image it takes you to the hosting site, but with a little frame on the top. if you look in the address bar it is something like images.google.com/domainname.com/blahblahblah

in the frame box at top there is an 'x' to click to close the frame and when you do that the url changes to the regular domain, in this case domainname.com/blahblahblah

can we stop giving google ideas please...

is masking a link just to make it look better legal?
i have masked dnjournal.com on my website as DOMAIN NEWS(1), do u guyz know anything abt this.....or should i ask the lawyers?
