This site loads sloooow

Is it just me or does this site load incredibly slow when you first load it. I noticed when you have mail you hear a sound that tells you. I'm figuring that's what is slowing down this website. I am also using firefox.

check the number of visitors and you'll know what's slowing down the site. This site is extremely busy at times.

no it's not the message alert ... it's all the add-ons, it loads very slow for me also .. ie

Agreed. It spends most of its time waiting for "contextweb" and "zedo"

I find it loads much faster with explorer.

It's all the spyware stuff/advertising that is loading (bannerpages etc). I downloaded a file to block out all spurious sites in my hosts file and it sped up the load time tremendously. The interesting part is that it blocks out the sponsorship for domainsponsor/oingo parking pages so think about the ramifications for revenue if spyware blocking programs in the future did this on a large scale.
