Visitor programs/businesses are frauds

I tested multiple companies that provide unique visitors and found the same results all the time. Visitor's are definately not unique. I tested this on pages that are not linked to anywhere, fresh pages for each test. These are stats that I have logged with one of the 4 methods of tracking that I used on Powervisitors*:

These are the ip numbers of each page load (time frame: 2 minutes)

I watched my IP log and the stats page I was supplied by Powervisitors* and each of these views was counted as a unique Powervisitors'* system.

I also used extreme tracking's counter service and that only registered as 7 uniques after Powervisitors* stats registered 100 uniques. I know that people will say that the browser window may have been closed before images could load, but I had a protection against that. I had activeX install prompts load which allowed the entire page load before it could have been closed.

Now I also know that people could have activeX COMPLETELY disabled, but 93 out of 100 people is not a very probable number.

I also used the InstantCounter.com service to track views, and that registered the same as extremetracking's stats.

Bottom line: I think these are automated hits coming from software that emulates visits. Even if they were real people, the 'uniques' counting is very inaccurate and should be considered fraud.

Thanks for the report. Always good to see things that should be avoided.

I think you should mention the name of the sponsor when exposing such
scams, so others don't use them. Perhaps in the warning forum?
