I use to monitor my personal domains from whois.sc Monitoring tool. Today I got an alert mail that one of my monitored domain's some values got changed. The mail follows:
----------------------
Our domain monitor detected registration changes in 1 of your monitored domains:

DOMAIN TYPE OF CHANGE OLD VALUE NEW VALUE
xxxxxx.ORG (whois) EXPIRATION 0000-00-00 2005-09-18

----------------------
I added this domain to whois.sc monitoring last year. And havent made any changes to it recently neither in monitoring tool nor in registrar level. For information this domain is up since 2003 , and working ok.

So what does this message mean? Should I ask them or I should contact my registrar.

Any guess ?

:-)

Hi,

To be safe, contact the registrar directly with your inquiry.

Good luck

It doesn't have a link anywhere in the email does it?

I hope domain hijackers are not at work here... Wouldn't that be something if hijackers were doing what those PayPal password hijackers were doing and sending out fake emails to steal your account info!

Hi,

There is a url on that mail, which is linked to my account at whois.sc . Though I have contacted the whoi.sc and my registrar for further info. Lets see what they have to say.

But your comments are welcomed here... keep sharing.
