"Dear Customer,

[We] received notification on Monday, Mar 6, 2006 that you have requested a transfer to 1000006000 for [domain]..."

So, what is this 1000006000? Do registrars refer to each other with codes for certain processes, or might this just be a bug or something? Would like to hear the scoop on the board while I also drop a line to the registrar.

looks like either a bug or some kind of bogus transfer request. whatever the case is, i would DENY the request.

I should mention it's supposed to be my own transfer to another registrar. I wonder if perhaps a program that should have inserted a registrar name inserted some kind of code instead, or...? The switch to pendingtransfer status was fairly immediate after I did my part.

Edit, later today: transfer complete. We may never know the answer to the riddle of the number.
