I'm guessing it might not be a Mod but someone with a vested interest in closing down anything that portrays GD in a bad light. Not mentioning any names :).

Bizarre! Unless there are some legal issues brewing and too much info was being disclosed.

It was a worthwhile thread and seemed to be growing in every post - new names added to the list as well as email scams.

Rock, your own business was personally affected and involved in this so there is a legitimate reason NOT to close the thread.

Were there any confirmed instances of spoofed Escrow.com transactions? Escrow.com instructs via email the two parties to log into their account without disclosing what the action is about. From my understanding, the situation only affected EscrowDNS. A few months ago, I warned Sedo about the exact same issue and they created the current transaction panel. Very secure.

That was not GD's flaw.

My train of thought as well. Seems to me it would be harder to do via escrow.com since THEY do not handle the names personally. jmo but Rock handling the names is what this guy seems to have taken advantage of.

It's the good old "spoof the email" trick that was used on NetSol until the early 2000's to hijack domains; that one was one step ahead though, as it actually auto-authorized the action via email :D

Netsol still has a MAJOR flaw as far as I can tell, cannot post it publicly but bad business imo that with nothing more than bad/out dated info can cost you your domain.

I think that the Legal section is not included in forum searches.
