Hey guys/gals.

I have been domaining for years now.
It has been the same old day in day out for the most part. We are all trying to make money, buying cheap, selling high, developing, traffic, PPC, etc

How often is it though that you do something completely new, which is exilerating. I myself have never until today.

I spent a day investigating a whim, a simple idea regarding typo domains. I have bought typo domains in the past and earnt nothing. Actually I have never made money from parking, at least not significant amounts. I have no experience, and no knowledge, and that is what made spending $3,000 on typos exilerating: the prospect of losing it all, BUT potentially gaining a LOT.

So, has anyone else made a significant financial investment, or decision which has made you question yourself, your state of mind, and your general sanity?

Ill keep you updated on my results. I feel better in the safety provided my the remaining strands of domain tasting. If I have been an idiot at least I have a fallback :)

You spent 3k registering typos? hmmm.....interesting.

I'm hoping they are not all typos of the same url...

Yup $3,000 USD on typos :) And no, max 5 typos of any one domain, no TMs, quite a few adult typos etc.

I would give some examples but I want to give it a few days to see how well they do.

i've never registered a typo, but i have won a couple in auction lots

Good luck with the new plan. Right now with the way things are I'm going extremely conservative. Sticking with what I have and I know what works, dropping domains like there's no tomorrow. Registering extremely few domains, too (I'm waiting for one to finally drop, too).

I have some ideas that I'd like to go with but due to current financial levels I can't start anything new and/or risky now - but there is always tomorrow (and next month...).

I have started over the past month putting together a network of sites which as turned some positive results, though.

its harder to make money off typos now more than ever.

My rush comes when I place names for appraisal and get reg fee or no value appraisals a=then make bank off of them a month later. One of my best stories is a 3 word 16 letter domain hand regged then ended selling to the number 1 private financial aid company in the world. That got my mojo flowing.
