Great catch, and it is definately worth money.

No matter what happens in this election there will be a constant stream of visitors to that domain, though perhaps diminishing in a few months time in reality. But there will be a fair amount of money to be made from it. The golden rule is of course will it pay renewal fees, the answer is yes and then some even in six years time!

My advice would be to offer the name for sale privately to the porn producer, it will be money in the bank for him even now.

I have to say that is an interesting twist. I had no idea there was a time when Palin herself owned the domain. I am pretty sure the Mccain camp is kicking themselves now as the internet now is such a huge political tool. And to get it back, well that could involve a lot of obstacles especially if they are not willing to pay up.

Sarah-palin.com recently sold for $10,000 on ebay if it helps to throw in some figures. Apparently that site now is a spoof blog. There are actually people that believe it is Palin's real blog. Now that is a bit scary considering the writer is obviously not a Palin fan.

The bigger picture of this is the average person still fails to understand the true value of a domain. (Otherwise it would have never dropped in 50 years, even for a mayor for a small town.)

Think about it: a domain is one of the few unique cases where a buyer offers $50 for a commodity, and the seller counters with $20,000. People still don't get it.

Call Larry Flynt (Or an idea I had, call his Hustler Casino and ask for a supervisor or someone in advertising. All you need is one of his cronies to know about it and pass the word to him)
