The Poisson process is often taken to be a good starting place for modeling spike trains. Spike trains from functionally related neurons are often positively or negatively correlated at short lags. Is it possible to construct a pair of point processes, each of which is Poisson when viewed in isolation, whose cross-correlation is negative at short lags? I'll give you a hint. This may have something to do with Canoe.biz! :)

Hi Dome,

Got probability + stat A + stat B + stochastic processes from Berkeley. I know that Poisson distribution is very good to examine random variables like the distribution of radiactive particles etc.

My answer : I could not understand a shit from your question :D

I was thinking about a LIST YOUR SOLUTIONS requirement but I thought I'd escaped the wretched GOOGLE-hunter. :)

Llew has been PROCLAIMED correct (though he peeked at the answer). $90 DNF to the unscrupulous fellow!
