Congratulations izopod :) I'm very happy for you and your wife :)

I'm also 34 and still no children, so to all you youngsters out there: If you have found the right woman, don't hesitate, someday it may be too late...

All the best izopod - yours is a happy story in an unhappy world.

Mazel tov to both of you. I am also 34 and just recently got married (she is 35, first time for both of us)

We are now trying to figure how quickly to get going on this. We wanted to try for a few "free" months before putting ourselves through a pregnancy. Obviously, due to her age, we know we have to get started pretty soon.

GregR, maybe it's time to add a new category called "child rearing" right between the "lounge" and "suggestions & feedback" - you never know it might become the hottest thread on the site!

In all seriousness, I think it's terrific. It sounds like I speak for everyone here when I say we look forward to updates from the both of you.

B I G - C O N G R A T S :D

I hadn't seen the thread until now - or I would have already commented. Great news!

Quick update. We had a false alarm. Noah is not due for another week. (false labor).

Ah I waited a long time for this, so what's another week!! :D

Grab his name! :-)

(J/K it will be there for him if he wants it. Although, actually this is a thought, his first name with last initial might still be available.)

the icehole just thought he should drop in and wish izo and his wife all the best.

Remember, if he ever needs someone to talk too, I'm here :)
I'm only a few years older than him anyways =)

Congratulation to both Izopod and Stevo.

Remember to name your baby with .com prefix. :D

Congratulations izopod!

Feel fortunate to have been able to live (most of your) life, and thereafter be blessed with a child. My situation is quite the opposite. I impregnated my girlfriend at 17, and had a son at 18. And all I can say is it's not what I had anticipated AT ALL.

Nonetheless I don't regret it, and I wish you and your wife the best.

congrats!

CONGRATS izopod and stevo, wishing you and your families all the best.
A child brings all the fun back into our lives...and sleepless nights.
My son has just turned 2 and I was nearly 31 when I gave birth-my husband was 37, but it is worth it!!!!!!!!!

" Go Placidly amid the noise
and the haste, and remember what peace there may
be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be
on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth
quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even to the dull
and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud
and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit. If you
compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for
always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested
in your own career, however humble, it is a real possession in the
changing fortune of time. Exercise caution in your business
affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you
to what virtue there is, many persons strive for high ideals, and
everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially,
do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in
the face of all aridity and disenchantment; it is as perennial
as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, grace-
fully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of
spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress
yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue
and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees, and the stars, you have a right to
be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no
doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefor
be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labours and aspirations in the
noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all it´s sham, drudgery, and broken
dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy."
Max Ehrmann

Whatever Else You Do

Whatever else you do or forbear,
impose upon yourself the task of happiness;
and now and then abandon yourself
to the joy of laughter.

And however much you condemn
the evil in the world, remember that the
world is not all evil; that somewhere
children are at play, as you yourself in
the old days; that women still find joy
in the stalwart hearts of men;

And that men, treading with restless feet
their many paths, may yet find refuge
from the storms of the world in the cheerful house of love.

~ Max Ehrmann
