After seeing the latest google layout, and having difficulty finding the settings button in order to disable the confounded instant search, I went looking around at search engines again. I have rediscovered altavista (yahoo without the unnecessary crap).

Nice! Simple, clean interface, with no default "instant search" crap to slow me down.

Hey, thanks for reminding us of them. AV's search suggest is even faster and less intrusive than G's.
