And is why IDNs are likely to be relegated to the scrap heap ... at least until the IDN spoofing problem is resolved.

Frightening how a domain can look like one thing and actually be another ...

...and it actually gets worse than that because many programs that handle IDNs use a best guess approach...

...so not only can one easily spoof other domains, folks visiting/using IDNs can't be sure it will go where they expect because that's program/resolver dependent to a large extent - totally contrary to DNS, which was never designed nor intended to be a guessing game.
