I'm sure a lot of you have come across him over the years. He used to pick up all the good stuff right out from under me. Well it looks like he is either 6 feet under, lost his shirt in a law suit, or has so much money that he doesn't have to worry about domains. Any one else notice his portfolio dropping like flies? Know what happened?

Andy would buy the .net of .com domains I owned, which he'd hold onto for years, eventually letting them drop. Last time I ran across him was in 2004. I believe since then he accumulated about twenty thousand domains. It's logical when you own that many domains to let go of many when they don't produce revenue or for strategic reasons (e.g. taking a corporate loss).

I highly doubt thats the case here. But if it is I hope it becomes the norm because it will be 1999 all over again. All the VC's should follow suit

Did you try to email him? That'd solve the question whether he's pushing up daisies or if he's restructuring his portfolio.

Nah it's none of my business really. But it doesn't make much business sense to toss out a minimum of 6 figures on the reseller market in just one days drops. Could be an inside deal with the drop co's though.

He is just moving his portfolio around. Moving parking providers etc. He moved nearly all to Marchex.

Most of the domains that you had seen that were expiring have been renewed or will be renewed, as it's been going on for about a month a more.

Glad to hear it wasn't anything bad. Not so glad to hear those puppies aren't going to hit the market. :upset:
