Any way to change the search function?

Hello. I noticed today that when you do a search it will not pick up on words that are located within words. For example, If I do a search for "shoe" this will show up in the results:
I left my shoe at home.

But this will not:
newshoes.com

Since I like to do alot of searches for niche type stuff this would be something nice to have. I looked through the advanced search a bit and cant seem to find the answer in there either. Any chance of getting a search that works like this?
