I was reading WIRED.com's review of the newly released Samsung Chromebook, the new notebook that is totally Google Chrome and essentially every thing runs in the cloud.

From what I have been reading, apparently it takes some getting used to in how you browse, access, store, and retrieve data.

I am not interested at all in paying the price ($499/$599) for an "experiment" from Google. But, that doesn't mean someone else may have jumped in.

I'd be interested in your own hands-on take.

Also, I am getting ready to try a new Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet. This should be a real hoot and fun to test drive. The one I opted for was the ASUS Transformer 32gb. I liked the specs (even over the new Samsung Tab 10.1) because of the expandability of the ASUS model (microSD slot for additional memory).

One motive for exploring this route is my mother. I would love to teach her how to work a simple tablet computer with front facing camera. She is 83, still very independent, having some difficulty keeping her meds straight. If successful, my brothers and sisters and I could look in on her more often and actually be alerted to any changes in mental status and actually look in on her medications to make sure all is okay.

"Welcome to the future, ma!"

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Yea the price is what bothered me too.

It's a cool concept but the price is unjustifiable (at least for me).
