FireFox keeps asking me to install it for the site--what exactly uses it?

nothin to my knowledge, i dont get any such thing, i am on firefox myself.

Hmm...I noticed some of the advertisement banners use Macromedia flash. Could the new PM notification use quicktime? If anything it would be flash sound effects. Maybe impactadmin or -=DCF=- could shed some light on this.

I got the same thing for awhile but it has cleared on it's own only to come back occassionaly. Hehe. I even tried to apply the update which you need to do manually with Firefox and I still got the warning meesages at the top of my browser. Cheers,

I don't think DNF uses QT for anything.

maybe someone linked a quicktime file?

Anyone know a Quicktime media file extension? I would go to the page that keeps asking you to download Quicktime and view source and search for the file extension.

I'm familiar with QuickTime and how it works, but I viewed the source on the page requesting it and could find nothing.

Strange

I get the same problem.. have reinstalled and still the same.. it appears to be triggered by this code.

PHP:
  <script type="text/javascript">
   <!--
   function log_out()
   {
       ht = document.getElementsByTagName("html");
       ht[0].style.filter = "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.BasicImage(grayscale=1)";
       if (confirm('Are you sure you want to log out?'))
       {
           return true;
       }
       else
       {
           ht[0].style.filter = "";
           return false;
       }
   }
   //-->

   </script>

I stopped getting it, now im getting it again, even on this page :(
