So, today I received two letters from this company called ICLS.NET.
Upon opening them, I noticed that they weren't actually letters, but bills. They had
a) description of services they had rendered and the charge for them
b) a customer number for me
c) a domain name of mine
d) a detach section with the bill amount listed, where i write the amount
e) instructions on who i have to write the check to, and when it was due
i thought "what the hell?". Then, I noticed, that in nice unobtrusive print it said "this is not a bill, this is a solicitation"
This is the biggest bullshit in the world - it's companies like these that yearly rip senior citizens off of millions of dollars. My 94 year old grandfather, before he died, got several of forms like these from health care companies - they looked exactly like bills and seemed like they probably were....well of course they were not. But he couldn't see well, he was old, he just wrote off a check and sent it to them.
I think this practice is awful. I didn't know it had permeated the domain world, but it's just irresponsible and unethical. I strongly encourage NO one to do domain business with a company that subscribes to such practices. Boo, ICLS.NET.
