Can someone help me fix my site?

I think someone screwed around with my site. It just stopped working.

it could be a few things.

1st make sure mysql is running and not hung.
Then check to make sure ur db is still there and that user and password is setup for access rights.

It's probably just one of those reasons.

so the p/w would be "yes"?

thing is i cant set a P/w to yes, it needs to be 5 char.

the password needs to be the same as it's called in the script. the script will look something like below:

$mysqlbase="DB_name"; // MySQL database name
$mysqluser="SQL_User"; // MySQL database user
$mysqlpass="SQL_Password"; // MySQL user password

just make sure they are the same as what you have as an actual db, user and password.

there is no set place for that info. it will either be in the begining of your script or in a config file.

you want to make sure that matches up with your actual db setup.

the best place to start is where the error is:

/home/creditc/public_html/functions/db_connect.php on line 8 <---
Cannot connect to the database

When it says:

(Using password: YES)

That just means that there is supposed to be a password set. Not that the password is YES.

yes you were. i just get so freaked out with php that i immediately think i cant do it. but i did what you said, find the problem. so i did and it told me where the error was.

it was a text file. somehow.......the username was changed.

Cannot connect to the database

Make sure your db login details are correct on your script and you have assigned the correct permissions for the user to the database. This is done within your control panel.

In your control panel there should be a backup option. You can either generate a backup or download the current days backup. There should be an option to download the database backup too.
