Hello Guys,

Is it true that .cc domains are non-transferable between registars or is this a measure in place for onlinenic. (The registar where the domain I am looking to buy is located at.)

Regards,

NW

Wondering about the same question myself.

If it is like .ws then the answer is yes, they can not change registrars.
ws domains can not change registrars, so reg carefully (and buy carefully)

Well, according to both RegisterFly and NameCheap they each accept .cc names to be transfered to them, so that'd mean they must be transferable in general? Dunno why OnlineNic would (then) not allow transfers (out), other than for selfish reasons...

Well namecheap and regfly both failed to accept the transfer stating that the domain was locked. According to the current registar onlinenic, it is not. I am left in the middle between trying a different registar for the transfer or simply sinking another $100 at onlinenic for an account. After hearing the horror stories here about them, I am a little bit hesitant...

You could just delete the name and reregister at your registrar of choice. There isn't much insanity grabbing cc yet.
