.CM Fake sales scam namejet be aware guys.

sex.cm winning bid $51,000 bidder 1 pulled out 2nd bidder also did not pay 3rd bidder paid $21,700

free.cm winning bidder $17,800 1st 2nd and 3rd bidder all did not pay the 4th bidder paid $310. by far the biggest gap <<<

tv.cm winning bid $5,200 1st bidder and second bidder pulled out the domain sold to the 3rd bidder around $2000

Home.cm 1st bidder $2000 he did not pay 2nd bidder did not pay 3rd bidder paid just $60

Be aware when bidding on namejet guys theirs a big chance you will be bidding against fake bidders maybe people who work for namejet who knows .

Any thoughts ?

Well, I know the person who was the winner originally on free.cm and from what I was told he decided not to follow through with the purchase due to lack of any potential traffic on the name. Don't blame him.

So, why the fcuk did he place a bid in the first place?

Scam bidding on African domain names... Gotta love the humour value alone.

There's plenty of traffic on the right .CMs, but it's usually the longer ones.
The ones I've got, I pick up maybe 50-100 people a day, and I just redirect them to the actual site with a 301, using my affiliate link of course.

The trick was to not go for the shorter URLs if you're just going to forward to another site. People are unlikely to mistype a short URL.

LAWL to .cm's

He should be banned from NameJet.

Yeah, I don't get that - if you aren't going to pay for the domain, why bid?

ditto plus...

wtf???

enter into an auction and fail to pay because the name does not live up to your traffic expectations?

google can find lots of things ;-)

on another note, isn't it funny lots of people complain how outsiders look at this industry. This and that give the industry a bad name. Well, I assume the bad reputation comes more from the inside than the outside. Some people refuse to pay what they have bid and suddenly a big company like NameJet is called scammers. In other cases people ask their friends to click on ads of their parked pages and later call the parking company scammers, because they didn't get paid the $2.5 and their account was closed. If people in this industry would start acting like more like regular business people and less like kids, the reputation what get better.

I'll go you one better Snicksnack.

Type "Define:[word you want to know]" into Google and it tells you right off
i.e. define:domain

advanced google user level required;-)

So how many actual sites are there up and running that use the .cm extension?

Or are the bulk of them parked and "hoping.cm" to make money off of a typo?

Are there any independent and reliable and credible studies out there that show how often people type .cm vs .com?

The whole premise and hype behind this thing is baffling. Promote a domain extension as a typo for .com.

I guess more people type in .mobi than .cm

Um, was mobi mentioned in my statement or questions?

Any data?

Or just hyped up junk to the only market aimed at marketing this extension - domainers.

Cameroon does not even use it. Cameroon.com is a parked page. Cameroon.cm does not even exist.

There is no market that exists for a .cm ccTLD.

yes, you are right, the local companies like Orange, MTN and Ringo as well as the government don't use .CM. I guess you know this from all your visits to the country.

Wow, that's a bunch.

Let me get his straight...I have to visit a country before I can say that it's ccTLD is a dud?
