Does anyone know an Easy way to transfer a .co.uk domain to someone else ? (name reg'd at godaddy)
First of all never use a US registrar to register UK domains as you will get ripped off.
Same as regging .com etc with UK registrars.
If you use a UK registrar you can push like any other domain so the buyer has control of the domain.
Then print off the transfer forms from Nominets site. Completing them only takes 2/3 mins.
Send off with copy of id. i.e a utility bill etc
Post to seller with a letter stating that you wish to sell, addresed & signed.
Doesn't hurt to do a letter FOR the buyer filled out the same & just means all buyer has to do is sign & enclose payment with the payment form.
(currently £11.75 i believe, inclusive of VAT)
Once Nominet receive they will update the whois, email you both to say job done & send the new owner a shiny ownership certificate.
Sounds complicated but actually only takes 15 minutes when you know what you're doing.
Unfortunately there are no shortcuts.
Only one way saves the id being sent & that is if you're a tagholder.
Cheers,
Pred
