Dash Domains Geo-graphy.com versus Geography.com

In a domain for example like
Geo-graphy.com versus Geography.com
would the dash affect at SEo of a name. is there a difference? How much would the dash hurt the domain from a search engine and keyword point of view?

Hyphens are used to make it easier for search engines to recognise keywords in the domain name. Geo-graphy.com is a poor example because "geo graphy" is not a searched term.
