"Do you know a good buy when you see one?"

is your buying based on current market values?

do you usually submit the minimum amount when making an offer?

how often do you, "Buy It Now", when that option is available?

do you stick to a budget?

what percent over your budget will you go?

or you have no budget really, and can buy what you like...whenever.

do you have to get permission from someone else to buy a name?

are you hesitant on making a quick snatch?

do you wait for others to bid before you do?

do you keep cash "on-hand" for new deals?

are you making any profits yet?

just some thoughts...

:)

Great Post Big

1) I don't restrict my buying to market value. I'm not risk averse so I risk buying names that may be ahead of a particular sector. I thought .mobi was going to fail (and still do) but non-the less I baught early ( some names at slight premiums) and made a killer.

2) I usually offer an amount slightly higher then minimum then settle slighlty lower then maximum. But I always enter into negotiations having a set budget for the name. When I first started domaining, some names would resonate with me but would be a financially unsound purchase. Its helped me to have a preset budget in mind.

3) I stick to a per name budget

4) If I have plans for a name or have strong feelings about it I've gone 30% over budget before. Didn't regrete it.

5)`I wish I could but whatever I wanted without a budget.

6) I have never gotten anyone else's permission to buy a name.

7) I've had good success with quick snatches... going with that gut feeling. But that's only from doing this for almost 4 years now. I was in the red when I first started thinking I knew something no one else knew.

8) Lately I started keeping cash on hands.... but domains are so liquid I usually go the route of selling a domain or 2 off for a better one.

9) Profit has been great. I try to maintain a portfolio of about 300 names... names that I know I will continue renewing. I make enough to renew all those names each year and put some bacon on the table I'm happy :)
