Does anybody know what "Agora" means?

I am looking to buy a domain containing the term "Agora" wich will be used to offer tools for domainers.
I just want to know if someone of you guys know the meaning of it...NO "Define:agora" in google please....just tell me if you've heard of it.

being that agoraphobia is a the fear of outside/open spaces, i'd have assumed agora was a variation on that in the same way arachnaphobia is a fear of arachnids.

however dictionary.com says it is indeed a greek market / place of meeting so what would i know.
