He hasn't transferred a name I paid for many moons ago.
I have bought other names from him in the past and have only positive things to say about our previous transactions.
He hasn't signed on in a while.
Has anyone seen him in the last few months, either online or in person?
I know his name is Ben.
He has been here since '03

Bump for you man, check the who is and call him , email him, etc etc

Yup thats Ben Delanoy. The guy is a complete scammer. He scammed me out of $750 by selling me KevinDurant.com a name he never actually owned. Had me pay by western union. I trusted him because I had bought from him in the past but he does this for a living. DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM!!

You can contact me for further details if interested. I have all receipts and conversations saved.

He's had a negative before too...hmmm..hard to trust anyone these days.

Yes its more than just that. This guy intentionally robbed me of my $750. He never owned the name, listed it on dnforum and demanded a quick western union payment. I sent several messages (over 5 actually) to the admin of the site including Adam but nothing was ever done to his account. Its a shame the admin doesnt take these more seriously. Its not like you can say the guy made an honest mistake. He blatantly defrauded and I have atleast 2 other guys he has done the same thing to.

So he mixes legit with scams. Another tactic we should all be leary of indeed.

Yes indeed. He hasnt tried to do much recently as his signature says hes "taking a break from domaining for a while" but he still logs in and does a few things from time to time.

Scammers are such scum.

But you could have met him outside the forum, also. I am thinking to start using EscrowDNS.com or Moniker's Escrow, since they get hold of the domain before the money is disbursed, I believe? That would protect from this kind of scam. We need to protect ourselves.

I think I bought like three domains from him, everything seemed fine. There was some other stuff he never sent me but it was like $20 worth or something.

I do not know him but it seemed from his posts he was behind in child support or going through a divorce and his business was not doing well...could explain his downward spiral to a life of selling unowned names.

Yes of course. Anything would have been better than western union, even Paypal. Paypal or escrow is what I use 99.9% of time but in this case he demanded WU. I dealt with him before, he had good feedback and a long history and it was a great deal so I didnt hesitate nor will I in the future for a similar deal. Its the risk you take sometimes its a shame these scum of the earth people do exist.

Interesting to know but obviously does not justify his actions. Its been over a year if he was man enough he would make up for it now.

Well, I just saw him posting he was looking for book domains.
I have recently moved to South Florida so maybe I'll just pay him a visit.
Tampa isn't too far of a distance to see an old friend.

Say Hello to him from everyone!!! :yo:

Is this yet another hacked account ?
