i am watching a domain .com extension has

17,261 overture results

208,000 google results

the domain consists of 3 parts like

xxxxofxxxx.com

i typed xxxx of xxxx in overture and it is an exact match

donno if it worth registering or all these overture results are nonsense!!

Nothing will guarantee a domains value however a high Overture count will be a reasonable indicator of potential value, particularly if the name with the extension has a high Overture count, e.g.

If "mygoodname" with an Overture count of 10,000 is good,
"mygoodname.com" with an Overture count of 1,000 would generally be much better.

thanks Mr Webname

but when a i type xxxx.com and gets reults in OVT

doesn't this mean that the domain is already developed ?

I would say this normally means one or more of the following things (at least):

1. It's a typo of a different website.
2. It was site before, but the domain name expired
3. It's a term that people type in in the hopes they will find what they want, not knowing whether that site exists or not.

thank you dotnetking

i agree with number 2

but still overture results alittle confusing for me

OVT has errors as well

The most popular one being showing much too high results for names that start with C have an .org TLD.

why is that?

Becuase OVT has bug?

Not sure if its still a problem but "all____.tld" domains used to show incorrect results.
