why someone would "Bump" in their own posting.

They usually "bump" to move up their listing...so it would go to the top of the list. That's my understanding.

OpMagic, you make some very good points. I think the only truly valid reason to do what you are asking about is to bring a stale thread to the to. Is is obviously most important in a sales thread.

Posting ONLY for the sake of increasing f$, is forum spamming, and is strongly frowned on by management and members alike.
