$ dollars into £ Pounds

I get affiliate cheques all the time .........

The thing is my bank charges £8 to convert the $ into £

You have to fill in a massive form, endorse the cheque and wait about 4 days.

Today I got a cheque for $7.58 - so I might as well rip the cheque up ?

Does anyone know away round this ?

Most of the time with $20+ cheque's i pay the £8 bank charges

The money is worth more in dollars than it is in pounds !

ive had this problem before also - i just raised the minimum amount payable on some affiliate programs and dropped the ones which didnt allow you to do this

couldnt you have the checks sent to a trusted individual in USA, who then paypals you the money in pounds?

You should be able to open a US Bank account at your bank. They might charge a monthly fee though. Then just deposit your checks into that account.

I use www.auctionpix.co.uk

They make no charge for exchanges between dollars, euros and sterling. They make their money from the exchange spread which is the same as the Nat West spread. If you have your money paid directly into a uk bank account, they don't even charge for postage. The only disadvantage is that they only make transfers on fridays so you get cleared funds on the following Tuesday. You may have to wait up to 2 weeks for payment as a result of this.

I've been using them for a year without any problems.
