Domain Addiction...

As my 100th post I wanted to celebrate my 1 month anniversary with DNForum and had a pretty interesting topic in mind...

Are you addicted to domaining? Tell your most interesting story to show how...What have you given up for domaining? What are you willing to give up? What unusual behavior do you exhibit because of domaining? :lol: etc...

I'll start...I've ditched school before to browse domains on a good "dropping" day....Ditched a date with my gf (told her I was sick)....Often when I see any URL ads on the road/train/outside, I wonder through the typos in my head and put off to check later at home if they're available...(that's so I can give back to the victim website of course :cheesy. There's a lot more really...What do you guys have to say?

Yea, I definetly need constant internet access...Going to get an Iphone within the next couple weeks...or you think a Blackjack is better?

I have a blackjack but its just an over rated blackberry. Anything with a qwerty and an html browser will suit you fine. Just make sure its 3G which, the iphone would be great.

what i've given up > sleep


a couple of years ago, i used to stay up late nights hunting domains, only getting 4 or 5 hours sleep

now i get my full 8 hrs.

- you need to be "exclusive" lol
- get your iPhone, cool tool. Use the IMAP to maximize the use iPhone

Domaining can really get on the mind, any words you see anywhere make you wonder if it's taken, or if there are variations. I think it's because there is so much competition now, if you think of a good idea you worry that someone's probably already taken it before you can check.

I spend alot of time researching, reading, emailing, buying, selling, meeting people. I had yesterday off of work and spent about 8 hours online. When I'm not by a computer, I carry a notepad and pen with me. If I come up with random domain names, I write them down. I think I have about 1,000 names on this notepad now. And I keep the notepad by my bedside too in case if I wake up in the middle of the night with that "perfect domain name."

I'm currently in the process of researching affiliate sites. I'm pretty sure I'll be on the computer for 40 hours a week building and researching.

I can't wait to make more money!!!

Haha..nice comments guys...I got another one...I noticed myself automatically adding the .com to every funky license plate I see on the road...Saw a bunch today...and it was a pity to think most of them were probably registered..Flinz .... OMGWTF(it was on a mercedes--awesome license plate btw)...Maybe I should just reg every numbered license plate and use the buyout as a means to control the supply I doubt anyone wants license plate domains though...
