That was my first thought as well John. I hate to see a bad guy behind every corner but the reason there are discussions about the privacy of whois information is because there IS a bad guy behind every corner.

If it isn't for a nefarious purpose I also agree with the post that says "ask". Although I can't imagine anyone giving you a list of domain names that they don't have for sale.

Hi,

I proposed an Idea to someone who said they wanted to partner with me. I now have a feeling he might be thinking of taking my idea and not including me.

I could find this out if I could take a look at what domains he now owns...and check to see if he has registered domains that would only be used for my project idea.

I have no interest in doing anything "sinister"....I just want to cover my "backside" and make sure I am getting a fair shake.

But if you know the domain names, wouldn't you be able to do a standard whois?

I do not know the domains or if any domains have been registered by this person

I would only know them by the topic of my idea...

So if I new what domains he currently owns... I could see if he has registered any domains in the 15 days or so...and if they were domains that would be used for my idea.

If I knew what domains this person may have registed...why would have have started this thread?
