I have been talking about the significance of the "trust factor" in getting traffic and revenue from your domains/websites by referring to how excellent the .org extension is for that, which is one of the important reasons a good percentage of my portfolio consists of org's.

When I first said that quite a few yrs ago .org was more obscure than now and many domainers thought it was only for non-profits at the time but today it is much more better known that commercial use of org can be quite good.

In fact, org's even rank 2nd behind com vs the other tld's for getting typeins in my experience. In part it's because of all the media coverage of org's and tv commercials which often have an org website.

IMO .org actually defines the trust factor even more than .com does, and certainly significantly better than other tld's. I believe prospective visitors to org domains feel more comfortable clicking on an org link or org search engine results more than on com's (even if it is a not a non-profit organization but is a commercial use website).

Another major factor in my reg'ing of hundreds of org's is that you can be surprised at how often the other major ext are all taken (vs even less valuable biz us and info) but the org is often available to newly register. I have seen that frequently but less and less as time goes by and people realize the keyword intrinsic value of so many dot-org domains.

Curious as to how many here also believe this about org and own a lot of org domains?

I agree. The most of the .orgs I've owned have always had traffic where you'd think there'd be none.

About 5-6 weeks ago I reg'd correcttime.org and correcttime.info - the .org has had about 12 visits 5 clicks and has made about $1 - the .info has had nothing.

That is a good point, .org's do seem to come with some trust factor.
