I have discovered that domains parked with DomainSponsor are not resolving on our home computers. We are using Cogeco and Rogers internet. I have checked with a few other people on Cogeco and rogers and same thing - DS parking pages are not resolving. Anyone here experiencing this?

If you are on either of the two networks can you try buy.ca and usedcars.ca (or if you also have your own DS parked pages try them) and let us know what you find?

Thanks

May be they are blocking the DS IP.
The same happens here.
They do resolve here for me.
But checked with a system loaded with McAfee and the firewall is blocking the IP.
Is that the network problem or the firewall?

It was checked on a computer that does not have the firewall enabled and the pages still do not load. So that points to the network.

Yes, must be your cable provider. No problem from local T1 provider here in miami.

Try nslookup yourdomainname.com from a windoze command prompt, see where it points to, or dig yourdomainname.com from a nix box.

buy.ca is pointing to 208.73.210.29 for me if you need the ip.

Also try putting the ip in your hosts file and see if will resolve to determine if they are firewalling or just not allowing dns resolution.

And try pinging the name to get the ip your provider is pointing it to, then go do a whois lookup at arin.net to see who owns the ip they have it pointed to. It's common also it point it to localhost (127.0.0.1).

Neither of them work. I'm just outside of Ottawa on Rogers

Thanks everyone for your contributions. So far DomainSponsor has determined that the problem is between them and Cogeco and as of Friday will be in touch with tech people at Cogeco cable. Have not heard yet about Rogers but I believe its the same. This was determined by doing a windows cmd tracert (trace route) on the domain at DS direction.

I will keep you updated.

Update

DS was able to get their IP unblocked and pages are now resolving. Thanks to Jim Grace at DS for his quick attention to this.
