Estonia’s national domain .ee has reached an important milestone: 200,000 registered domain names.
The news was shared by the Estonian Internet Foundation on LinkedIn, where the registry celebrated the achievement and thanked its accredited registrars for helping .ee grow into what it is today.

This is a strong moment for the Estonian domain space. The .ee extension has long been connected with Estonia’s digital identity, business culture and reputation as one of Europe’s most advanced digital societies.
Why this matters
For a country with Estonia’s population size, 200,000 domain registrations is a serious number.
It shows that .ee is not only being used by local companies, organisations and individuals, but is also gaining more attention internationally. The Estonian Internet Foundation has previously highlighted that .ee is becoming more international, with growing interest from outside Estonia as well.
The registry also described .ee as one of the most secure and efficient national domains. That positioning is important in today’s market, where businesses increasingly care not only about the name itself, but also about trust, stability and the long-term reputation of the extension.
Growth has been building
This milestone did not happen overnight.
The Estonian Internet Foundation reported in late 2024 that the number of .ee domains had more than doubled over a decade. In Q3 2025, the registry also reported continued growth, passing 180,000 domains.
Now, reaching 200,000 registrations puts .ee into a new stage.
A win for the registry and registrars
The Estonian Internet Foundation made a clear point in its announcement: this is not only an achievement of the registry. It is also a result of the work done by .ee registrars.
That is worth highlighting. A ccTLD grows when the registry, registrars, local businesses, investors and end users all move in the same direction.
Congratulations to the Estonian Internet Foundation, the .ee registrar channel and everyone involved in the growth of Estonia’s national domain.
