I think this fits better in this forum than the enom section:

Just in from enom:
Valued Customer,

In July 2011, eNomCentral was notified by VeriSign that it plans to raise the cost for their respective TLDs on January 15, 2012. As with previous VeriSign price increases, eNomCentral must adjust our pricing such that we can absorb the increased costs for reselling VeriSign’s TLDs.

Historically, eNomCentral has always been resistant to raising our prices. Our goal has always been to provide domain name and value-added services at competitive rates. Unfortunately, based on this announcement from VeriSign, eNomCentral must modify our pricing to address the increased cost of reselling these VeriSign TLDs.

The purpose of this notification is to inform you of our new pricing.

Effective January 14, 2012 the new customer pricing will be:

New Tier Price: $39.95

If you have any questions, please contact us at +1(425)974-4689 or [email protected].

Sincerely,
eNomCentral Support Team

lol yeah I got that one too. I always move the names out before expiry. They're ripping off plenty of people.

just got it too, i dont even have any names with them (thank goodness) how do they stay in business. ouch!

no kidding...nothing like jackin up prices that are already sky high... :)

Dumped enom. Unfortunately for some sellers (and for me), I will not buy any names at an enom account.

I moved all of my names away from enom a couple of years ago....

They do this not to compete with their resellers, but any time I needed to renew I call them and they drop the price down to $8

"Verisign announced that as of Jan. 15, 2012, the registry fee for .com domain names will increase from $7.34 to $7.85 and that the registry fee for .net domain names will increase from $4.65 to $5.11."

Gee. I wonder how they can get buy on only $39.95 a year.

Brad

I didn't get that email... does that mean they won't be raising my $8'ish price?

i don't get why verisign thinks they can up the price every year.

they can up the price because their contract has been extended.

Gotta love how they address you as a "Valued Customer" as they bend you over.

I replied to their email with this:

"New Tier Price: $39.95" + "competitive rates"...how far do you have your heads up your ass?
