I like the function under "UserCP" which shows the threads that I have posted in and if they have any new posts or not. However I don't want to receive emails telling me that people are responding to my threads. I had over 35 emails today. Is there any way to disable the emails while still receiving the subscription?

Change the option in your control panel under "edit options" / "Default Thread Subscription Mode"

You probably have it set for instant email notification.
