Archive.org: records as far back as 2001.

Whats the deal?

What am I am saying is, the whois record shows the name was created on 22 Feb 2006. Which is highly unlikely considering archive.org has record as far back as 2001.

I have never seen anything like this before and was looking for an explanation as to why. There could be a legitimate reason, just asking for it. Thought maybe you knew.

That happens quite a few times with different registrars[in my experience].

Say for instance, with Networksolutions, even if a name is dropped, it'll still show it's original reg dat, ie 01 feb 98, while with others, it will show the date it was picked back up, ie 27 feb 06, even though it was first regged 6 or 7 years ago,
