How do you value a forum if it's not been really monetized ?

Members,traffic ??

Example say has an alexa ranking of less than 7k with 30k members 60k uniques visitors a day and there are always at least 700-1000 people online 10% members the rest guests and still growing.

How much would a site like this be worth although not fully monetized bringing in around 1k a month.

Any ideas on rough valuations ?

More then 100K thats for sure!

I've got a forum with 9K members, 50 on at a time, and 1K uniques a day that I have rejected 6K$ offers for.

How many posts?

Although at 60k uniques per day... heh, as Duncan says, over $100k easily. Anything over 1 million uniques every month does warrant quite a large price tag.

My forums (and website) get around 1k uniques per day (but with 130 users online at same time at peak times), and I definitely wouldn't sell for low-mid $x,xxx for it :)

How much can you make from a forum with that kind of traffic? From what I heard if you got ads up there, the click through rate is horrible so it barely makes any money. Is this true?

Whilst forums do have a high amount of users who aren't just looking around (as in there are members, who are looking at threads, posting, moving onto another thread, etc), with that amount of traffic you'll easily make money.

CTRs won't be as high as most websites would be, although there are still people 'just browsing' on forums, just like websites :)

I would suggest monetizing the forum before trying to sell. You will give more confidence to potential buyers as some forums are hard to make money with.

CTR is typically around 1% or so, not great because forum visitors are there to chat, not to click on ads. However, PPC is not the only revenue option to explore.

Ya it definitely depends on niche and keywords too.

I thought CTR are as high as 1%. I would be a bit surprised if they were 0.1%. Typically users get used to where the locations of the ads are and will never look at them.

Maybe someone here can tell us their statistics and maybe share their average monthly profit. Sure would be interesting.

Adult forum hey, There's so much you can do with adult stuff online, but the thing is I it would be difficult for me to go through with it.

Try to get relevant, direct advertisers who will appreciate the eyeballs. Adsense doesn't care about the eyeballs.
