I am just looking at www.whois.com .
Typing any domain name there, like hgdhsgdhsgdsdgsdgshdg.com , gives the following message
"Want to buy hgdhsgdhsgdsdgsdgshdg.com even though it is already registered?

You may still be able to purchase hgdhsgdhsgdsdgsdgshdg.com by using the services of Sedo.com, the world's leading domain name brokerage. The folks at Sedo have connections to thousands of domain owners around the world, and their experienced Domain Brokers can negotiate the purchase of your domain at the lowest price possible."
of course, the domain is free...so a whois site is trying to make some extra money?I simply don't understand what they are doing there:)

Yes, it is fraudulent to try to sell a domain that is free to register. They should adjust the script to do an availability check.

I checked it out. It didn't give me the sedo message unless the domain was registered.
