Hope the data proves helpful. Anyone want to comment on it?
Thanks.

EDIT: Data updated on Sunday p.m., 5/18!!

One immediate comment would be that it probably would improve the quality and speed of the auction without really hurting sales much if the minimum bid was raised to $5 or $10.

Both your stats and my observation during the last few auctions indicate that the vast majority of names, if they sell at all, would sell for more than these higher minimums.

Just a thought...

Thanks, Edwin!! :D

Maybe it's a "brainstorming" or "constructive" thread!?! I dunno, I guess it depends on how YOU view the data.
Good Luck.

Iagree $1 auctions should be last. I've noticed the members online drop once the $1 auctions are over.

Yup. In all fairness, I'd say ALL domains should be listed in a random order ... though a case COULD be made for the $1.00 ones to be LAST, as Jolt mentions. I'd settle for the former.
Good Luck on Sunday's everyone!

PS. I'll be updating the "data" after each auction, as well.

Stay tuned ... this one (5/4) was a real sleeper! Zzzzzzz.
Updated.

The four (4) LOWEST average Sale price Live auctions were the past four (4) weeks, under new management.

Any comments as to WHY ... when, seemingly, Platinum membership is steadily increasing (theoretically from these "guest" visitors)?!?
Please comment.

Good point!
Unfortunately, the new owner is NOT an auction seller ... so it looks like that "support" won't be there for future auctions, either! Dang.
Thanks, .Com.net! :D

UPDATED after the 5/11 Live auction!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. :depressed:

:weird:

UPDATED after the 5/18 Live auction!

Please comment at your leisure.
Thanks.

I think the big news (rather astonishing) is that Flowers.cc went for $250...

True, Edwin! Quite astonishing, really.
Had that one not sold ... the "average" for tonight would have been $10.02 per domain sold in the Live auction (an all-time LOW, by far)!

Does anybody real care...does anybody relly know what time it is? Does anybody ever really care....

Hmm ... I was there. People just stopped bidding higher, so that's the FAIR price for flowers.cc and I don't see anything wrong with that. Please remember that it's a resellers' auction we're talking about.

Similarly, adult.cc did not get any bid off its $400 starting price; meaning: experienced domain speculators don't think it's worth that. Period.

I really don't understand why people complain about not getting good prices at the auction; if it is a top-notch domain, it WILL definitely get an excellent close even when it starts off at $1!

Just some thoughts. ;)

What was the attendance figure?!?
I think that could explain a LOT ... both in terms of the average Sales prices and seeming lack of activity, "liveliness" to the Live auctions, of late!
Gregr used to give us attendance figures (Users logged-in), but I've never seen any since the management changeover.
Can you display the attendance figures here for us, Nameslave?
Thanks.

CoolHost.com - any changes made to the auction yet? Just curious as we have help back on listing names until we felt it was going to work - Thanks Much - Steve

I'd say go list them right away. If you browse through this week's Auction List, you'll see quite a lot of high-quality names, including a bunch of 3-LETTER's and a couple of 2-character's. See you on Sunday. :)

You misunderstood my comment, I think. I was amazed that flowers.cc received as MUCH as it did ($250 sounded very high for a .cc domain) - of course, the old "this domain's worth exactly as much as people will pay for it" applies here too :)

Wow, my apology indeed for misreading your statement earlier on, Edwin; partly perhaps due to CoolHost.com (now banned)'s follow-up comment. [/Embarrassed]
