This site has great potential. It is a new site setup for the 360 launch and has quickly gained in hits per day without any PR what-so-ever. All I did was post some messages on forums about it.

You can expand this site to general gaming, and at the very least use it for the PS3 and Revolution launch to make a lot more money. I chose to make the site free and only made $1,200 in last 9 days and over $1,500 since 12/1/05 when it went live, however, you could choose to charge a small fee and make a lot more.

The majority of the money made has been in Amazon and other retailer affiliate programs. Then after that donations, and lastly google adsense. Adsense has been increasing every day, and has been over $30 per day the last couple of days.

It is currently getting 3-5k uniques a day and has consistently increased. Do some PR and it will increase further. The 360 should be hard to find well into january/february of next year and shortly thereafter the whole console hunt will begin again with the PS3.

I'm selling this because some personal circumstances will prevent me from having the time to maintain and improve the website. I believe that this site could turn into a great general gaming community site and the defacto site for next gen console launches.

The address is "www dot gamermill dot com"

Please email "sale at gamermill dot com" for traffic and revenue proof or to make an offer. Please be aware that you should have knowledge of PHP and MySQL to be able to maintain the site. Thanks.

Do you have asking price in mind?

Not really, I'm not sure how much it is worth and I'm willing to just take highest bidder within a couple days.

If I had started this site one month earlier and charged, say $19.99, for membership, there's no doubt I would have made $10,000+. The same is true for the next two console launches in 2006. The fact that it's getting 3-5k uniques a day just from a few forum posts and word of mouth shows it has lots of potential. Many were able to find a 360 using the site which has led to dozens of testimonials posted in the forums you could use for advertising.

Could you please provide us with the link to the detailed statistics, including the referrers?

It's pretty odd, the domain was registered on 7th of December and you are saying that it made more than $1500 after 12/1/05. Can you also explain how does the website receive 3-5k visitors per day if the site is only 16 days old?

The domain started out as collage.ws on 12/1/05. I decided it needed a better gaming oriented name, and switched to what it is now on the 12th. If you look at the last page of the news forum you will see the sequence of events.

I will PM you (and anyone else who requests it or emails me) with screenshots of stats and revenue at just after 12:00 EST.

Like I said, all traffic is from word of mouth on forums. I posted a couple posts on xbox.com forums and it just spread like crazy. joystiq.com also posted a blog entry about it. A large percentage of referrals are from either forums, bookmarks, webmail, or direct links.

Also it is on the first page of google when searching xbox 360 in stock which has caused a bit of traffic too.

I've made an additional $250 since my last post 3 days ago, and that was with very little traffic over the holiday weekend.

Another 3 days have passed, and another $285 has been made. Still no nibbles on this sale. Why is that?

Is it because nobody wants to deal with maintaining the PHP? Do most people who buy sites on here just buy it for the traffic and reroute that traffic to an existing site?

cyates,

No one will take your word for it. You will need to post traffic screenshots including referrers as well as income screenshots. Plus, it would also help to understand what price you are looking for or establish a starting bid price.

As stated, I will send screenshot proof to anyone who asks. So far two have and I have sent both. I'll prepare a new set of updated screenshots and just post them on here when I go home for lunch. For now, the screenshots I took on the 22nd are at gamermill dot com / sale

I didn't establish an asking price or starting bid price because I really have no idea what it should go for.

In the absence of any starting bid, I'll start the bidding at $1000.

Cyates, can you please specify an end-date and time so there is no confusion later.

Have you announced this sale on another forum or market place?

Well, I was going to say lets end this saturday night, but just remembered thats new years eve. So, lets end this Sunday, 1/1/06 at 11:00 PM EST.

Nope, I have not announced this sale anywhere else. This is actually the only place I know of. Do you have any suggestions where I could post it? Thanks.

I have no suggestions as of yet as am still trying to guess your pricing idea. Provided this site has made $1200 per 9 days and currently generates $200 per day, I suppose you will ask for it something like $30000 (appr. the 6 months revenue)?

Well, that's actually higher than I was thinking. The reason is because once the xbox 360's are no longer in high demand and people are able to walk into a store and buy one off of a shelf the revenue from this site should drop.

However, many stores are saying that isn't going to happen until march/april and the potential is there for a lot more money to be made on the next two consoles being released in 2006. Plus there is potential for a general gaming site to be created from the traffic.

I guess all this is what makes it hard to forecast earnings and thus current value. I wish I could just keep the site myself, but I can't.

I have accepted an offer for the website so it is no longer for sale. Thank you.
