Getting a domain from a defunct company

Anyway to get a domain that everyone involved is gone. The company is belly-up for a couple of years and the nameservers and host is gone too and those domains have expired.

The domain is registered until 2008.

Don't steal it

You can try looking up some of the employee's (director? ceo? tech admin?) phone number(s) and try calling them.

I wouldn't even know how to steal it. Heck, I cannot even figure out who is the registar.
