Despite how I LOVE Gmail, it's still in beta and *free*, so I won't RELY on it even for personal mail. But I was just about to sign up 2 new account for my friends this morning, and then they're down. ;p

That is not good. Like I said, never use Gmail or even Hotmail for anything critically important like PayPal. But don't worry, usually they'll be back soon. ;)

It's still in beta & there will be bugs & outages. Better not to hook to gmail yet for paypal or for other important uses.

Looks like it's still not that steady yet. Got a 502 server error just now. :(

That's odd. it hadn't gone down one bit for me. But then again I don't visit the site itself. I use a thirdparty application to retrieve my e-mail for me into Outlook Express.

I use gmail's desktop notifier and I've noticed that it's gone down a few times in the last few days.

It kinda sucks for me when it's down. My contacts rely on that, which it shouldnt. Maybe they're experimenting.
