godaddy bids highest

using the overture bid tool i've just realized that godaddy is the highest bidder for the term 'domain names' paying a whooping 6.50 USD per click!!!

netsol and registercom are paying 3 bucks per.

wow, incl. their icann fees as well, gd seems to be actually losing money on most single orders. but what they lack in quality, apparantly they make up in quantity d

Not based only on quantity. Since they pay about $6 per dot com they reg they are losing significant money on the ppc ads. However, they easily make it up and a nice profit too by the process of upselling the new customer to other money making services. That is something GD and WW do better than anyone I have ever seen, not only regarding domains but in any business no one does it better, they are #1 in upselling.
