I got this email today. Be careful when you receive the email like this and DO NOT CLICK links from any suspicious emails.!!!!!!



Dear : Go Daddy Customer

We recently have determined that different computers have logged into your
Go Daddy account, and multiple password failures were present before the logons.
We now need you to log into your account and verify your account activity.
count we have issued this warning message.

It has come to our attention that your Go Daddy account information needs to be
reactivated as part of our continuing commitment to protect your account and to
reduce the instance of fraud on our website in this new Season.
Once you have reactivated your account records your Go Daddy account
service will not be interrupted and will continue as normal.

I was about to contact GD too but I thought I would post here first so our members are aware of the scam.

Received it, clicked the link by accident (because the touchpad on my laptop is very sensitive)

I expected a fake GoDaddy login page, but I got a 404. Nevertheless I decided to alter both my password and my support PIN.

Oh thank you Mr. Dicker. We wouldn't want any scoundrels in close proximity to our Godaddy accounts.

It might be worth mentioning that if your email service (or servers) support Sender Policy Framework (SPF), this would not be an issue, as it looks like the good people of GoDaddy were savvy enough to publish DNS SPF TXT RR records for their domain's DNS host file.

In concert with an email server that is actually clued into SPF (most modern SMTP servers are SPF aware), the original message would never have made it into your box because it is more than doubtful that the message came from a server at GoDaddy from their secureserver.net systems.

SPF, unlike what you may have been told, it is not an anti spam solution, but rather a reputation tool which allows you to tell others which servers serving your domains are authorized to send email on behalf of your domain names. If you are interested in learning more about SPF and how it works to protect your domain's online reputation as regards email spoofing, you might want to check out OpenSPF.Org.
