Geeks don't date or marry supermodels. They date or marry fellow geeks or at least general population commoners.

That's exactly what ubergeeks want to avoid: a lifetime label of being superficial (fraud) for getting out of their fellow geek kingdom. Because if there's one thing other geeks can't forgive a fellow geek its marrying outside of the geek/commoner caste. And by marrying a fellow geek Sergey gets to keep his legacy of being a traditional "smarty" completely intact.

And also helps a lot that he won't be made fun of when they divorce. Nobody will point a finger and laugh in his face because some supermodel took him to cleaners. Instead they get to say: "oh some bio-medical informatics PhD from Stanford took him to cleaners" - and that just doesn't have the same zing.
