Whats wrong with the lookup? My IP is still banned. %+|

It keeps timing out. Before it used to time out half the time but now it keeps timing out.

I am a campaign client as well :)

As mentioned in another forum, everyone needs to stop using programs to query the tool. Without image verification no one will be able to use it.

I wish overture would have a separate tool that doesn't go down for their clients :(

Yes that's what I figured was doing it. But a company owned by yahoo should be able to handle any amount of queries.

Ok you can raise fists 8-)
Even though I was using it for the purpose of researching a domain and not for the purpose of any campaign :) ?

a few thousand domainers using it every so often and a few hundred at best flooding it 24/7 with automated queries should not be causing it to lag or even go offline.. obviously there are some major issues/flaws with the tool.. e-mailing overture and letting them know would be the best thing to do :-)

Overture is in the process of updating their keyword tool and will be releasing an API for a nominal cost in the new year. The secret to using the tool is to do less than 1 request per second and NEVER bursty. If you do this then you will be banned.

Whizzbang

I have always thought this Overture thing is werid, after checking in the past what those Overture counts were made up of, pretty useless search entries like (purely an example);-

1231 Oklahoma animal farm
67 Oklahoma Oklahoma animal

I think the SEOs are really messing with the system. These are not normal end user type-ins.

Where do they pull these results from? I am assuming yahoo searches, am I wrong?

It's just an example, of SEOs hammering certain terms to test things out. Anyway, who uses Yahoo search anymore, seriously?

I use yahoo for product searches. I don't know why

Does anyone know of a way to even do regular manuall lookups without getting the "system unavailable" errors. I am manually doing one search every minute or so with some quaries being a few seconds apart (not constantly) and still getting those errors. What is the resolution for this? Are there any proxy softwares that can be installed and used? It suggestion tool seems as though it's not even working for manuall lookups anymore? Help Anyone?

I think it is more of a server overload on their part then them blocking your ip from making 1 request per minute. I have the same problem.

I used to be blocked, but I'm not anymore...

however, its very hard to do searches as it keeps going down

Yes exactly. Are there any other web tools out there simular to overture?
