Highest first offer you ever received?

There is always talk about lowball offers, but what is the highest first offer you've ever gotten?

Mine is $5000 for a four letter first name .ca

Second was $3500 for a pronounceable lllll.com

How about you?

I had $15,000 or $20,000 (can't remember) initial offer for LLLLL.com
However, nothing happened other than few email exchange.

Getting offers mean nothing until it produce completed sales.

Most of my offers start @$500

I have received a huge starting offer on a name I have no interest in selling - I politely declined...Then they more than tripled their offer and said that was the max - and I declined with no counter as well (just did not tell my wife on that one - she would have killed me for not selling or even negotiating).

I think he was talking about profit percentage.

$10K to $11K is only 10% profit
$10 to $1K is like 10,000% profit

Yes, but the person offering usually doesn't know what you paid for the domain. A large first offer is kind of special because so often the first offer is low, no matter what the name. A large first offer on a domain you paid reg fee for is even more special.

In any type of business, cash is king. That's why I stop buying LLL.com names several years ago after I sold about 30 of them.
You get a high offer but you have to invest a lot of money and it's risky for these acronyms dot com.
I switch to LLL .net and .org and have sold many in the range of $5-$10K recently.
